The Salem Police Foundation proudly supports the Salem Police Department’s Canine Unit — a dedicated team of highly trained police dogs and their handlers who serve our community with courage and loyalty. These remarkable dogs assist officers in apprehending suspects and conducting searches for lost or missing individuals, often putting themselves in harm’s way to protect others. Their partnership with our officers strengthens public safety and saves lives. Yet while their courage never wavers, their ongoing care and protection depend on the generosity of supporters like you.
Police canines face the same risks as their human partners, but their specialized care, training, and equipment often fall outside the city’s budget. That’s where donor support makes a lasting difference.
